REFLECTIONS

There's a reason why libraries are placed in the center or front of a school.  It's because all curriculum areas should spoke from that center. As the teacher-librarian in my school I have the unique position of assisting both faculty members and students.  I collaborate with teachers in designing activities that integrate technology into their lessons.  I assist students in locating information, interpreting and applying the information in appropriate manner and presenting the information in a technology rich environment.  According to Carol Simpson: "As students become more self-directed learners, the librarian acts as a resource person in the students quest for supporting information and the development of appropriate presentation strategies. "  I find myself taking workshops at ETTC and NJASL convention to learn technological tools that I can pass along to my teachers.

My first artifact is a power point presentation that I gave at NJASL  2009 Convention on Thinkfinity.

My second artifact is a power point presentation I used during a two day workshop to the special education teachers.  The webpage was created to house a list of sites and resources that would assist them in helping their students pass the HSPA.
